Our organization was founded in 2017 by a group of individuals who had a passion for sports and a desire to create a Calgary co-ed hockey league that truly put the players first. We have all played in various leagues around the city and knew we could take our experiences and elevate your overall hockey experience. Our goal was to become a premium beginner to intermediate focused rec hockey league that centered around community spirit.
Maintaining a fun, safe, and inclusive environment has always, and will always, be a top priority for the CCSL. We strive to bring people together through a variety of recreational sports and social gatherings.
Our directors are not just directors, they are also players. Each member plays in the league as we truly believe that by being a part of the season, we can make it that much better. We focus on transparency and communication in all that we do. When you reach out to the CSSL you can expect a personalized response in a timely manner. We pride ourselves on our ability to work with our players to find common ground and ensure a positive experience.
In our first season we had 13 teams participate, during 2020 we had 60 teams registered! We are proud of the incredible growth we have experienced in 3 short years and are thankful to our amazing community as none of this would be possible without you!
Spring 2021 brings an exciting change for what previously was the SHHL. We have re-branded as the Community Co-ed Sport Leagues (CCSL). This organization will operate as a division of SHHL Calgary 2017 Inc. This shift will allow us to expand into additional sports in the future. We can’t wait to bring you more sports, more fun, and provide you the opportunity to meet even more people!
We are confident that this will strengthen our presence as a co-ed sports option in Calgary!
